“Photoshop Oil Painting Filter”

2021 was an interesting year, New Zealand was hit like the rest of the world with Covid 19 and for weeks we were locked in a space where we had no choice. The government at the time took far too long to procure vaccines and the result was we remained in limbo. With masks to prevent the virus and spin from the media we obeyed.

The result of boredom set in and while we could not venture out to visit our favourite photography haunts. With the restrictions of only being able to go for walks within our area, I decided to set up a small studio, and the resulting boredom was set aside but this led to the shaking of a head from the Sherpa thinking I had lost my mind when he saw the crazy pointless manipulations of my wonderful treasured photos, who could blame him, there was no point, no story or even a reason to it other than to keep me occupied. So I dedicate these few photos to Covid 19, and to remind me that there is an end and a beginning to all things.

Photoshop have a filter called oil painting, all you do is load up the image and move a few sliders around resulting in somewhat pretty images. In some ways I like them but the only reason for doing it was I was bored. Who knows I may revisit it again but there is far too much natural beauty to capture first.
