A very wet and windy month, we went on many road trips scouting out locations for future opportunities and boy did we find some crackers! Exciting Christmas gifts to test out and learn new skills is my task for January. Wildlife, pets, long exposure, landscape and flowers - all part of the month of January. Each photo needs to tell a story of where we have been or seen. Plans are on the way for the year so watch this space.
January the month it rained

FInding a balance in nature to preserve the moment but also highlight the delicate moment in time. Using a slow shutter speed helps show the power or water in relationship with the ebb and flow. No textures or photoshop layers are used in these photos, simply slow it down and click. I was recently told by a photographer I greatly admire when I asked him to critique my photos, he said “It may be a molehill or a mountain you have been true to your goal”. Honesty in a photo is very important to me, maintaining the integrity of the photo and capturing what I remembered at that moment.
It’s all about texture and movement

March always is the point of goodbye summer and hello autumn, it’s a time to look at what we are doing to prepare for winter. My photography in March will be about this change from seascapes to the world around me. As we move thru life we experience different adventures, trying to capture the moments is fun and challenging! As always the integrity of the photo plus the moment is top of my list to keep true and as close to as seen as possible.
March a time of change
Murrays Bay, a beautiful morning with soft light filling the sea, the walk way was busy with early monring walkers so it was anopportunity to do some long exposure photography.
Free dog wash, Murrays Bay no shampoo supplied but guaranteed to get wet!
We all see things differently but it's the same world we live in, it depends on where you look¬!
Waiake Beach March 2 a wonderful sunrise and the blue gold tones were magical. As always this image is shot in RAW with minimal lightroom changes.
At my camera club there is alot of talk of the use of photoshop and creative images, while I do not want to go down this road I want to learn how to do it so I understand what is being discussed. So here is Father Time, Mother nature and Enki (of water) (Daughter) all inside a danedion clock (get it Clock/time) Climate change is upon us and that is the message in this photo - ticking time !
